"They started by collecting food for the displaced. Now they're building something bigger: relief that becomes education, education that becomes enterprise."

After the 2021 coup, young people in Taunggyi did what they could. They collected food and clothing for internally displaced persons. They created safe community spaces. They organized educational programs and helped people start small businesses. It was grassroots, informal, and driven by a simple belief: we care for each other.

Those efforts grew into something more ambitious: the We Care Program, built on three interconnected pillars. Charity provides immediate relief with dignity. Education equips youth with skills and hope. Business innovation creates sustainable income that funds continued community support.

It's a vision of resilience that breaks the aid dependency cycle. Relief restores dignity. Education builds capability. Enterprise generates the resources to sustain both—creating a self-reinforcing system of community support.
