"3.5 million people displaced. Half of them children. And still, in camps and clearings and borrowed rooms, the teachers keep teaching."

With 3.5 million internally displaced people in Myanmar—half of them women and girls, and nearly half children—access to education has become one of the most pressing challenges facing families. An entire generation is at risk of losing their educational opportunities.

And yet, despite unsafe conditions and lack of resources, local teachers and communities continue creating learning spaces in whatever ways they can afford. In camps, in clearings, in borrowed rooms. Teachers who joined the resistance keep teaching. Parents who can barely survive still find ways to gather their children for lessons.

These stories of resilience deserve to be told—not by outside journalists parachuting in, but by the communities themselves. This documentary project uses constructive journalism methods to highlight innovative solutions and messages of hope emerging from displacement. It trains local teams to tell their own stories, creating both immediate documentation and lasting capacity for communities to control their own narratives.
